Hero Like he never faltered
But went bravely, a helping hand to lend
Little dreaming that this days duty
Would bring him to a sudden end.
In his course of life this was his motto/
"Do your duty, boys and with a will
If this decreed that we should die here
Why then do your duty still"
And now at rest thought he will be
Free from all sorrow and from care.
Sweet will be his rest in heaven
And may we all meet him over there.
